Everyone’s Obsessed! See Why TikTok Can’t Stop Talking About This Candy Salad Recipe!

It’s candy, but way more fun.

There’s a special kind of salad that’s all the rage on TikTok these days—and it’s perfect for those with a sweet tooth. It’s a tasty treat for all the candy lovers out there and it has a simple name: candy salad.

What is Candy Salad?

Sometimes social media trends are complicated. Others aren’t. In this case, it’s the latter. Candy salad is simply a bunch of different types of unwrapped candy mixed together in a bowl.

Most of the time candy salads follow a theme, whether that be by holiday or color, although you can dump any candy you like in a bowl and mix it up, which is part of the appeal. At this time of year, for example, you’ll see a lot of fall or Halloween themes.

How to make Candy Salad

Anyone can make candy salad, but some people take pride in creating a standout formula.

TikToker @hunterkailey calls it their “signature dish.”

Others take it as a challenge to show off their creative skills. TikToker @tessapeay made a version with all green ingredients for St. Patrick’s Day and noted, “Doc told me to eat more greens.”

The great thing about making a candy salad is that there are no rules. You are free to create your own unique mix and the possibilities are virtually unlimited. A common approach is to mix different types of textures or flavor elements, like sweet and salty.

This time of year, leftover Halloween candy is pretty much a given. Candy salad is a fun way to use up the spooky sweets. Sure, it’s the same candy, but it feels different because instead of picking and choosing from your treat bag, you can get a little bit of everything all at once.

How to Serve Candy Salad

Candy salad is usually served in a large bowl. Be sure to choose one that is large enough to hold all of the components, and leaves room for stirring. You want to blend all the ingredients well, so every serving contains a varied assortment.

Serve a large candy salad with a large spoon for serving or if your crew is more particular you can set out bowls of different candies and let people create their own personalized candy salad. If you’re using full-size candy bars or rope-style candy (like Twizzlers), cut the candy into pieces.

You can also package up candy salad and take it with you for an easy on-the-go snack. TikToker @mikaylamcn calls candy salad “a road trip necessity.”

Candy salad is a combination of all your favorites to enjoy. All you need to do is get your choice of candies, toss them together in a container or bowl, then enjoy.

HOW TO STORE CANDY SALAD

Since this is just candy, it will last a very long time. But it’s important to store it in an airtight container (squeeze out any excess air if storing it in a bag); this way, the gummy candies don’t dry out. You’ll also want to keep it cool and not leave it out in the sun for too long, as the gummies can get sticky.

What Kinds Of Candy Can I Use?

Any! I would just try to keep the candy all similar in size so it mixes well. For strings or strips of candy, make sure to cut them into pieces before adding them.
