Ingredients:
- 500 grams plums, chopped & pitted
- 1 cup organic honey
- 3 tbsp. sugar
- 2 oz. water (optional)
Method:
- In a large saucepan, toss the plums with the water and sugar. Let stand and stirring occasionally, until the sugar is mostly dissolved.
- Add honey to the saucepan and bring to a boil. Make sure to keep stirring occasionally.
- Cook on medium heat for about 20 to 30 mins, until the liquid runs off the side of a spoon in thick and heavy drops. Skim foam from top.
- Delicious homemade plums+honey jam is ready to taste.
- Ladle jam into a clean container, leaving 3/4 inch of headroom. Let cool completely. Cover and refrigerate up to 3 month.
Note:
- Do not peel the plums. The peels add deep color.
- If you want an Indian taste, add 2 cloves and/or 1/4 tsp of cardamom powder while cooking the plums.
- Spread the jam over plain/toasted bread or enjoy with chapathi/ roti.
