Honey Sweetened Plum Jam

A very special homemade plum jam, made with more honey and less sugar. You can skip the sugar, if you want to make it only with honey. Check this out and Enjoy!!

  • Servings: ½–1 Jar

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams plums, chopped & pitted
  • 1 cup organic honey
  • 3 tbsp. sugar
  • 2 oz. water (optional)

Method:

  1. In a large saucepan, toss the plums with the water and sugar. Let stand and stirring occasionally, until the sugar is mostly dissolved.
  2. Add honey to the saucepan and bring to a boil. Make sure to keep stirring occasionally.
  3. Cook on medium heat for about 20 to 30 mins, until the liquid runs off the side of a spoon in thick and heavy drops. Skim foam from top.
  4. Delicious homemade plums+honey jam is ready to taste.
  5. Ladle jam into a clean container, leaving 3/4 inch of headroom. Let cool completely. Cover and refrigerate up to 3 month.

Note:

  • Do not peel the plums. The peels add deep color.
  • If you want an Indian taste, add 2 cloves and/or 1/4 tsp of cardamom powder while cooking the plums.
  • Spread the jam over plain/toasted bread or enjoy with chapathi/ roti.
